My Idol No Longer...
If "American Idol" was "The Apprentice" and I was Donald Trump, then Katharine McPhee would've been fired last night. Oh she sang just fine. She looked great & I still think she is one of the best performers this season. But she's on my bad side now. You see in class yesterday I played Queen's "Don't Stop Me Now" as a preview to the night's Queen only performances. I first heard the song from "Shaun of the Dead" and I've liked it ever since. So I played it hoping someone would sing it. Then they show my girl practicing with Queen & she's gonna sing the song. It's a sign from above right? Wrong! She changed her mind before her performance & sang a ballad, like she's done every week! Way to step out on a limb superstar. I liked her up until that time, but when you dog my Queen song, you are out the door. Sorry hun, no soup for you.
But having said that, I don't think she'll be voted off tonight, although that would be karmatic justice. But she wasn't the worse by far. No, I think Bucky is going to survive elimination for yet another week. However, I think Ace is gone. He's been a favorite ever since the beginning, but I think the past few weeks have shown just how mediocre he is, and he doesn't survive the night. That's my call & you heard it here first.
This is really the first year I've watched "American Idol" which is odd considering how big of a crush I have on Kelly Clarkson now. But I watched at the beginning just because I like to see the really crappy ones bitch & moan about how great they really are & that they are gonna be stars despite the "American Idol" shame that has befallen them. But for some reason, I stuck with it this year. And I haven't been terribly impressed to be honest with you. The talent isn't great & the show is kinda dull. I only stuck with it this long because Katharine McPhee was great eye candy. However, now that she has wronged me & cut me deep, I may say sayonara to "American Idol" after tonight's elimination show (which I'll only watch to prove that I'm right about Ace being done). Besides there are other things to watch on Tuesday's, right?
