Fire Pro Wrestling Newsline, May 9, 2008

Greetings folks & welcome to the Official Fire Pro Wrestling Newsline for May 9th, 2008. Despite being over 4 weeks away from our next great live event, “Demolished,” on May 31st, it’s been a busy week in the world of Fire Pro Wrestling. After this week’s news, I’ll get into the updated rankings.

Having said that, let’s get into the news:

*I’d like to say thank you for the feedback that I’ve received regarding the first installment of the Fire Pro Wrestling Podcast. I know it’s a little rough around the edges, but as time goes on & we gather more experience doing it, it can & will improve. Fore those of you who are unaware, the Fire Pro Podcast is live & available on iTunes right now. You don’t need an iPod to hear the podcast. iTunes is available as a free download. Once you get to iTunes, go to the iTunes store & you can search for: Fire Pro Wrestling Podcast & you'll find us there. The download is free & you'll be able to get all the episodes as they come. For those who want to get really technical, the podcast feed itself is http://www.switchpod.com/users/dblej78/feed.xml

If you have any ideas, suggestions or requests as to what you want to hear on the podcast, please email me at firepro.doublej@gmail.com

*The members of Demolition, Ax & Smash, will be signing autographs before & during intermission at our “Demolished” live event. The former World Tag Team Champions, who still hold the record for the longest tenure as champions at 478 days, will be in action as well. Don’t miss your chance to see one of the greatest tag teams in history & true legends in the sport compete in the Fire Pro ring.

*I recently spoke with FPW Commissioner “The Big Jack” John Burke, who told me he was feeling better & was expected to be in attendance at “Demolished” on May 31st.

*Reports have trickled in, and this information is coming to me via secondhand accounts so I cannot verify it’s accuracy myself, that Skuz (the former Hoss) still has the green paint on him despite it being nearly 2 weeks since it was splattered on him by Wages of Syn leader Syn. If the reports are true, I can only imagine the smell that must be coming from Skuz at this point. No word on if Skuz has been ordered to keep the paint on him by Syn.

*”The Product” Christopher Kent continues to make enemies wherever he goes. After the way “Out For Justice” ended, with Kent hitting “Roughneck” Jay Ryan with the FPW Heavyweight Title belt instead of his intended target in “Diehard” Steve Szoke, rumor has it that Ryan is fuming. Ryan is said to be furious at the way things went down & he completely blames Kent for costing him not only the match, but also his chance at being the Heavyweight Champion. The list of people wanting to get their hands on Kent grows almost daily.

*And speaking of wrestlers with problems, “The Regulator” Tristin Hayze is livid at the actions of Chase “The Face” Richards at “Out For Justice.” Richards was serving as the acting Commissioner when he caused what Hayze feels was unnecessary humiliation at the hands of “Da Juggernaut” Osyris. I didn’t think it was possible, but the deeply rooted personal problems these two have with one another just continues to grow. Personally, I think Hayze got exactly what he deserved.

*At this point, I’m not sure if the King of the Cruiserweights title, currently held by Jynx, is exclusive to Fire Pro. It will be interesting to see if the KOTC title holder would be welcome in Fire Pro if that person is someone other than a FPW superstar.

*You don't have to wait until a Fire Pro show to get great FPW merchandise. If you want to get the best merchandise around, ranging from t-shirts in all shapes & sizes (including children's sizes) to DVD's of our events, and avoid the long lines at the live events email fireprodiehard@hotmail.com as soon as possible. It's the best way to place an order. This will ensure the item you want isn't sold out come live event day!

*If you've ever wanted to get into wrestling, the time is now. Opportunities exist for those interested in joining FPW. Want to be a wrestler or a referee? Here is your chance, contact us at fireprodiehard@hotmail.com if you'd like more info or to get your wrestling career started.

And now here are the updated rankings (previous ranking is in parenthesis):

1. Steve Szoke (1) – Again, we start at the top with the standard bearer, the FPW Heavyweight Champion. Szoke faced his toughest task yet by having to overcome not one, not two, but three challengers at “Out For Justice.” Yet, he managed to beat the odds & retain his title in impressive fashion.

2. Hayden Kent (2) – Proving he has more staying power as a champion then his brother, this Kent retained his title on consecutive days by beating back his challengers at “Out For Justice” & “Ignite.”

3. Dave Allen (3) – How much longer can the FPW 24/7 Hard Target Champion continue to barely escape with the gold? He did so again at “Out For Justice” & we can only wonder how much longer that will go on.

4. Jay Ryan (4) – I debated this choice to keep Ryan this high in the rankings. But in the end, I opted to keep him here for now because even though Ryan lost the 4-Way dance for the FPW Heavyweight Title at “Out For Justice” it had more to do with Christopher Kent’s “inadvertent” use of the title belt, then Ryan losing.

5. Osyris (9) – “Da Juggernaut” defeated “The Regulator” Tristin Hayze at “Out For Justice” despite all of Hayze’s shenanigans. Looked impressive in doing so as well…is this the start of the big man going on a monstrous winning streak?

6. Roach (NR) – Even though he came up short in his bid for the gold at “Out For Justice,” Roach looked impressive in that match & in his victory over Christopher Kent. Is this the start of Roach re-igniting his singles career?

7. Christopher Kent (5) – “The Product” as he is now known, is already making an impact in FPW with his new attitude. If he can start making an impact in the wins column, this man could be the future of FPW, if his bad attitude doesn’t get in the way.

8. Fuzion (NR) – Clearly the masked man is gunning for Allen & his title. I think Fuzion’s time will come & sooner rather than later, he’ll be the next FPW 24/7 Hard Target titleholder.

9. Skuz (NR) – Whether or not you like the new persona that this young man has adopted, the fact remains that perhaps the newest member of the Wages of Syn finally has focus & a purpose in FPW. Time will tell.

10. Tristin Hayze (7) – “The Regulator” tried not once, but twice to end his match with Osyris prematurely & he paid dearly for it. The personal hatred between him & Chase Richards continues to grow. Their cage match in June will be one brutal affair.

Saying goodbye to the list were:

Machine (6), PT Hustla (8) & Chase Richards (10).

1. The Groucho Marks (Carl Morris & Gilbert Lewis) (5) – Winning the FPW Tag Team titles propels this duo to the top of this list. The victory party continues for them & now we’ll have to see how long they can remain the champs.

2. The New Breed (Kenny Courageous & Devon Fury) (1) – The biggest upset they have ever suffered in their careers cost them their titles in stunning fashion. Can they recover from the devastating loss?

3. The Uprising (Jeremy Hadley & Luis Rojas) (3) – An impressive victory puts The Uprising back in the title mix. Whether or not they can finally get the titles remains to be seen.

4. Risk Factor (Roach & Jynx) (2) – It seems as though the former champs might be going their separate ways. I’m not sure what the future holds for them, but if they continue on without one another, they wont be on this list much longer.

5. Celtic Cross (Angus McDuff & The Crusader) (4) – We are still trying to sort out the details as it pertains to The Crusader’s whereabouts at “Out For Justice.” The New Breed has claimed responsibility for his absence, but we haven’t heard from The Crusader directly.

Alright folks, that’s gonna do it for this installment of the Official Fire Pro Wrestling Newsline. Make your plans now to join us for a historic night as Fire Pro Wrestling presents “Demolished” on May 31st. Former World Tag Team Champions Demolition, Ax & Smash, will be in action that night! Don’t miss your chance to see true legends of the ring compete right before your eyes.

“Demolished” will take place at the Fire Pro Wrestling Arena, which is located on the Impact Christian Church Campus at 401 W. 82nd Place, Merrillville, Indiana. Tickets are just $10 for adults & $6 for children. Doors open at 6 P.M. with bell time at 7 P.M.
