Fire Pro Wrestling Newsline, March 7, 2008
Greetings folks & welcome to the Official Fire Pro Wrestling Newsline for March 7th, 2008. It’s been a long time since you’ve heard from me, so I apologize for taking so long to get back to you. But rest assured we are back & better than ever. But having said that, there has a lot been going on since we last visited one another before Christmas. Wow, has it been that long? Entirely too long, so let’s get back into it & there won’t be anymore lapses in getting back to you in the future.
The previous Fire Pro live event at the Fire Pro Arena, which is located on the Impact Christian Church campus, was a huge success. Fire Pro was graced with the presence of the “Greatest Intercontinental Champion of All-Time” the Honky Tonk Man. Keep an eye out for my interview with the Honky Tonk Man, who took some time to sit down with me & chat about a variety of subjects in the world of wrestling. Some of his answers will inform & may even shock you, so look for that to be available on DVD in the near future. Rumor has it those DVD’s may be available at our next live event, which takes place on March 22nd.
And bringing us to our next live event, again at the Fire Pro Arena, Fire Pro is proud to present the 2nd Annual “Bane’s Pride Memorial Tournament” to crown the next Fire Pro Wrestling Pride Champion. Chase “The Face” Richards has held that championship since winning the inaugural tournament one year ago. Richards will essentially vacate the championship that night & have to win it back if he wants to remain the titleholder. It’s long, tough road to re-claim the title, but if anyone can do it, Richards can. Due to Richards being the champion at the time of the tournament, he has been declared the number 1 seed, with good reason. And being the number 1 seed carries certain privileges, such as allowing Richards the opportunity to name his first opponent. Richards, never one to take the easy way out, decided that his first opponent on the path to the Pride Title is long-time rival “The Regulator” Tristin Hayze. These two have literally beaten each other senseless & bloody over the years, so it’s only fitting that the first round will feature these two going after one another again.
In addition to Richards & Hayze, they are joined in the tournament by:
-Syn
-PT Hustla
-"Luscious" Louis Linaris
-"Youngblood" Hayden Kent
-Christopher Kent
-"Da Juggernaught" Osyris
For my money, Richards is the odds on favorite to again walk away with the Pride Title again, but I wouldn’t be surprised to see any of these men walk away with the gold. The field is that deep. That is just a testament to quality of the Fire Pro roster. Top to bottom, it’s the deepest & most talented pool of wrestlers assembled in Fire Pro’s history. The future is certainly bright.
In addition to the Pride Tournament, other matches scheduled include:
-The Fire Pro Wrestling Tag Team Champions, Risk Factor (Roach & Jynx) will put their titles on the line against the number 1 contenders, the Newest of the New Techno Breed 2000 ("Handsome" Kenny Courageous & Hoss). Can Courageous capture gold without Devon Fury? He’s picked a good partner in the young upstart Hoss, but I think Risk Factor will remain the champions for the foreseeable future. But I’ve been wrong before.
-There will also be a Last Man Standing Battle Royal.
Now let’s get to the news.
*If you have yet to see the pictures of the new Fire Pro Wrestling Heavyweight Championship title belt, take the time to check it out. The new gold is simply stunning & quite frankly a work of art. Almost makes me want to put the mic down & go after the gold myself. Na, nevermind, I’ll stick with what I do best.
*One has to wonder if Devon Fury is growing frustrated seeing Kenny Courageous escape time after time with success without him. Fury was convinced that Courageous couldn’t survive without him, but the self-proclaimed “Handsome” one has not only gone on, but now he has a title opportunity with a new partner. If Courageous captures gold without Fury, I suspect the “Mat Mechanic” will be nothing short of livid.
*Word out of the Fire Pro Director of Competition John Burke’s office is that a special enforcer will be assigned the tag team title match to ensure that Courageous doesn’t resort to his cheating tactics. Despite this declaration by Burke, the special enforcer has not been named, but I’ll see what I can do to get that name for you in a future newsline prior to March 22nd.
*In case you haven’t heard yet, on May 31st, at the Fire Pro Arena, Fire Pro Wrestling will be bringing in the original members of the legendary tag team Demolition. Ax & Smash will be competing that night in tag team action against yet to be named opponents. Make your plans to join us that night.
*Frequent Fire Pro guest & former World Champion, “The Total Package” Lex Luger is still on the mend after suffering a stroke late last year. Luger has been allowed to leave San Francisco & return to his home in Atlanta to continue his rehabilitation. Luger suffered paralysis as a result of a spinal stroke, but has been slowly getting feeling back in his extremities. Everyone at Fire Pro wishes Luger a speedy recovery & we all hope to see him back in Fire Pro in the not too distant future.
*You don't have to wait until a Fire Pro show to get great Fire Pro Wrestling merchandise. If you want to get the best merchandise around, ranging from t-shirts in all shapes & sizes (including children's sizes) to DVD's of our events, and avoid the long lines at the live events email fireprodiehard@hotmail.com as soon as possible. It's the best way to place an order. This will ensure the item you want isn't sold out come live event day!
*If you've ever wanted to get into wrestling, the time is now. Opportunities exist for those interested in joining Fire Pro Wrestling. Want to be a wrestler or a referee? Here is your chance, contact us at fireprodiehard@hotmail.com if you'd like more info or to get your wrestling career started.
Remember, we return to action on March 22nd as Fire Pro Wrestling presents the 2nd Annual "Bane’s Pride Memorial Tournament" at the Fire Pro Arena, located on the Impact Christian Church Campus, 401 W. 82nd Place, Merrillville, Indiana. Tickets are just $10 for adults & $6 for children. Doors open at 6 P.M. with bell time at 7 P.M.
We will be potentially be crowing a new champion that night, unless Chase “The Face” Richards can make it through the bracket to re-claim his title once more.
That will do it for this edition of the Official Fire Pro Wrestling Newsline for March 7th, 2008. Make plans to join us at our next live event, which will be a great night. If you have any questions or comments, feel free to email me directly at firepro.doublej@gmail.com.
