Fire Pro Wrestling Newsline, April 11, 2008

Greetings folks & welcome to the Official Fire Pro Wrestling Newsline for April 11th, 2008. We are still a few weeks away from the next great Fire Pro live event, set to take place on April 26th at the Fire Pro Arena, located on the Impact Christian Church Campus in Merrillville, Indiana, and with it admittedly being a slow news week, I thought this might be a good time to update those Fire Pro rankings. Remember those? Well it’s been a long time, too long, so let’s get those back in vogue & have some fun with that.

As a reminder, these rankings are my opinion & if you disagree, then that’s great, but you have to let me know about it otherwise I think I’m doing a darn good job. So if you have any complaints or suggestions for the ranking system feel free to e-mail me at firepro.doublej@gmail.com. All I ask is that Tristin Hayze stop e-mailing me; you are not number 1, so stop begging!

Before we get to those rankings though, let’s take care of the few news items we do have:

*Word out of the Christopher Kent camp regarding his upcoming interview on April 26th to discuss his actions at the Bane’s Pride Memorial Tournament last month is that Kent will be very remorseful & hope to reconcile with not only his brother Hayden, but you the Fire Pro fans. That should be a welcome sight that will hopefully erase the image of Christopher spitting in Hayden’s face last month. That was hard to watch.

*The now re-united New Breed, the new Fire Pro Wrestling Tag Team Champions, have been so proud of themselves for the “fast one” they pulled on everyone for the last few months that they are celebrating someplace “tropical” far away from us. Prior to their departure, the self-proclaimed “Handsome” Kenny Courageous told me via e-mail that they needed to get away for some rest & relaxation because it was stressful pretending to hate each other for so long, since they are truly great friends. Let’s hope this is a very short title run!

*Some new content has been posted to the Fire Pro Wrestling channel on YouTube. What? You didn’t know that Fire Pro had a YouTube page? Well, where have you been? Get on over there & check it out. Some new material from the Bane’s Pride Memorial Tournament is online now. You can check out the channel at http://www. youtube. com/fireprotv

*As a reminder, Fire Pro Wrestling will be adding to its impressive guest roster on May 31st, when we welcome legendary tag team Demolition. The original members, Ax & Smash, will be on hand & they will be in action.

*You don’t have to wait until a Fire Pro show to get great Fire Pro Wrestling merchandise. If you want to get the best merchandise around, ranging from t-shirts in all shapes & sizes (including children’s sizes) to DVD’s of our events, and avoid the long lines at the live events email fireprodiehard@hotmail.com as soon as possible. It’s the best way to place an order. This will ensure the item you want isn’t sold out come live event day!

*If you’ve ever wanted to get into wrestling, the time is now. Opportunities exist for those interested in joining Fire Pro Wrestling. Want to be a wrestler or a referee? Here is your chance, contact us at fireprodiehard@hotmail.com if you’d like more info or to get your wrestling career started.

*The long anticipated Fire Pro Wrestling podcast will launch before the next live event. It hasn’t been decided which day the podcast will be posted, but it will be up that week. When I have a set date, you’ll know for sure. This is a very exciting time for Fire Pro.

And now on to the rankings:

Singles:

1. Steve Szoke – Kind of a no brainer with the first pick here. Szoke is the heavyweight champion & until someone knocks him off, he will remain number 1 overall. Impressive victory over “Roughneck” Jay Ryan solidifies this spot.

2. Hayden Kent – With his win last month to capture his first singles title, this Kent boy has earned a spot near the top of the rankings. The first challenge comes later this month when Kent defends the title for the first time. Can this Kent hang on to his title longer than the other Kent held his?

3. Dave Allen – Allen’s inactivity would normally cost him, but since he is a champion, he’ll remain this high on the rankings list…for now. Another month like last month & Allen will plummet, titleholder or not.

4. Jay Ryan – May have lost the last battle with Szoke for the heavyweight title, but Ryan looks poised to win the war. It’s not hard to picture “Roughneck” with the gold around his waist, but he’s gotta take it from Szoke first.

5. Christopher Kent – So he lost to his brother in the finals for the Pride title & had a bit of a meltdown because of it. I kind of like it to be honest with. Shows a fighting, competitive spirit. But he better start winning or that attitude will be labeled as a whiner, not winner.

6. Machine – Managed to win the Last Man Standing Battle Royal last month. With his victory, he seemed to be sending a message that he should be in the running for a title shot. But who knows what he’s thinking, whenever I ask, he just yells at me.

7. Tristin Hayze – I tried hard to keep Hayze off this list, but the fact remains that he is a talented competitor. However, come June when Hayze has to step foot in a steel cage with Chase Richards, there will be no running for Hayze. It will be put up or shut up time.

8. PT Hustla – If you had PT Hustla defeating Osyris in the Pride Tournament, then come sit next to me & tell me the lottery numbers. I did not see that coming, nor would I have guessed it was possible. But an impressive victory lands the “Friendly Neighborhood Bad Guy” on this list.

9. Osyris – The big man had a rough go of it at the Pride tournament thanks to some dirty tactics by PT Hustla & his agent Lester Mitchell. But the big man will bounce back strong.

10. Chase Richards – Richards had no love for Hayze before the Pride tournament. So imagine how being arrested thanks to Hayze makes Richards feel. Exactly, Hayze is in big, big trouble.

Tag Team rankings:

1. The New Breed (Kenny Courageous & Devon Fury) – The re-united New Breed are back on top the tag team world in Fire Pro & they had us all fooled. In hindsight, shouldn’t we have seen this coming?

2. Risk Factor (Roach & Jynx) – The former champs will have revenge on their mind & rightfully so. They were cheated out of their titles & deserve to still hold the gold.

3. The Uprising (Jeremy Hadley & Luis Rojas) – Has this duo lost their way? They seem to have gotten lost in the shuffle & could probably use a little refocusing. But a win could get them back on the right track. Now they just need that victory.

4. Celtic Cross (Angus McDuff & The Crusader) – It would have to be considered an upset if this team takes the gold from the New Breed on April 26th, but then again, it wouldn’t be truly shocking. These two are quite talented.

5. The Groucho Marks (Carl Morris & Gilbert Lewis) – I’m convinced that if this unorthodox pairing ever got a chance, they would surprise people with their skill. Sometimes I think they are being judged by their cover, but you know what they say when you judge a book that way.

Alright folks, that will do it for this installment of the Official Fire Pro Wrestling Newsline.
