Fire Pro Wrestling Newsline, April 4, 2008

Greetings folks & welcome to the Official Fire Pro Wrestling Newsline for April 4, 2008. First, I want to apologize for the lack of a newsline last week. Unfortunately last week my grandfather passed away & duties of the family came first. I want to thank all of you who sent your thoughts & prayers my way. It was a difficult time, but in situations like that, time helps to heal. Needless to say, getting back to doing the newsline is proving to be very therapeutic for me.

Now that the 2nd Annual “Bane’s Pride Memorial Tournament” is in the books, there is a lot of fallout to deal with. First off, we have a new champion in Hayden Kent. Hayden overcame the odds & a tough final round match against his brother Christopher Kent to be crowned the new Fire Pro Wrestling Pride champion. But did his victory cost him his brother? Post match, Christopher didn’t handle his loss very well, refusing to shake his brothers hand & even going so far as to spit in Hayden’s face. That incident marred what should’ve been a special night in a budding career. Instead, we saw the disintegration of not only a tag team, but also a family relationship.

The other major incident is the escalation in the long standing Chase “The Face” Richards & “The Regulator” Tristin Hayze war. Before their first round match-up in the Pride tournament, Hayze, citing a restraining order he had previously filed, had Richards arrested & escorted out of the Fire Pro Arena in handcuffs. To those skeptics, I was in the ring that night during this incident & I can assure you that the arresting officer was legit, the badge was authentic & the handcuffs were as real as they come. These two have fought each other tooth & nail for such a long period of time that it’s hard to picture a time when they weren’t out for each other’s scalps. Having said all that, I applaud the decision to let these two settle their differences once & for all in the first ever Fire Pro Wrestling Steel Cage match on June 28th . At our next show, set to take place on April 26th at the Fire Pro Arena, there will be a contract signing between these two & the steel cage match will be official. Get ready for a battle that will settle the war.

Perhaps overshadowed by the other incidents, we saw the crowning of new, old tag champs. Kenny Courageous was set to take on the champions Risk Factor alone after dismissing the services of most recent partner Hoss. The odds didn’t appear to be in his favor & to ensure that Courageous had no tricks up his sleeve, Fire Pro Director of Competition “The Big Jack” John Burke assigned Devon Fury to be the special guest referee for this important match. But the former tag team partners had pulled a fast one on the world the past few months & re-united the New Breed right then & there to re-claim the tag team championship. It was a very disappointing turn of events in the tag team division.

I’ll run down the card for “Out For Justice" a little later on in the newsline, but first let’s get to the news:

*In light of the events at the Pride Tournament, Christopher Kent has asked for time to address the fans of Fire Pro as well as his brother regarding his actions. I surely hope Chris has seen the error of his ways & hopes to make amends for what transpired.

*The new Fire Pro Wrestling Heavyweight Championship title belt should be available within the next month & it’s my hope we can unveil it around the waist of “Diehard” Steve Szoke in a few weeks. The new gold is simply stunning & quite frankly a work of art. The Heavyweight title here in Fire Pro is certainly a coveted championship & with the new gold on its way, the title will be, hands down, the best looking title belt in the industry.

*As a reminder, Fire Pro Wrestling will be adding to its impressive guest roster on May 31st, when we welcome legendary tag team Demolition. The original members, Ax & Smash, will be on hand & they will be competing.

*You don’t have to wait until a Fire Pro show to get great Fire Pro Wrestling merchandise. If you want to get the best merchandise around, ranging from t-shirts in all shapes & sizes (including children’s sizes) to DVD’s of our events, and avoid the long lines at the live events email fireprodiehard@hotmail.com as soon as possible. It’s the best way to place an order. This will ensure the item you want isn’t sold out come live event day!

*If you’ve ever wanted to get into wrestling, the time is now. Opportunities exist for those interested in joining Fire Pro Wrestling. Want to be a wrestler or a referee? Here is your chance, contact us at fireprodiehard@hotmail.com if you’d like more info or to get your wrestling career started.

*It’s been a long time coming & after many delays, the Fire Pro Wrestling podcast, hosted by yours truly, will finally be making its debut. I’ll give you the official launch date when I know. But the technical difficulties have been sorted out & the podcast is ready to roll.
