Fire Pro Wrestling Newsline, April 25, 2008

Greetings folks & welcome to the Official Fire Pro Wrestling Newsline for April 25th, 2008. We are now about 24 hours away "Out For Justice" and now that we have a good sense of what will be occurring this weekend, this is the perfect time to use the newsline as a preview for what will take place. So let's get right into what you'll see as Fire Pro returns to live action, not once, but twice.

Now, as a reminder folks, these previews & predictions are my opinion & my opinion only. Saturday's "Out For Justice" card is taking shape, so lets get into it:

-We begin with the Tristan Hayze vs. Osyris match-up. Now, from what I've heard from talking to various people about this match, no one expects Hayze to win. The general consensus is that Hayze is in for a whipping & Osyris will deliver it. But something about this match is rubbing me the wrong way. I get a sense that with everyone putting Hayze in the losers column, "The Regulator" will do something, anything, to ensure that he not only survives but manages to come out ahead in this one. If pressed to pick, I still get a sense that "Da Juggernaut" comes out on top, but I wouldn't be shocked to see Hayze stoop to his lowest levels yet. Here's hoping I'm wrong.

-In his first title defense since being crowned the new Fire Pro Wrestling Pride Champion, Hayden Kent defends the title against Marc Houston. Houston is not a newcomer to Fire Pro & having seen him compete in the past, I would say he is quite capable of leaving as a champion. What Kent will need to do is find a way to negate "The Big Texan's" obvious size & strength advantage. How he'll do that is up in the air at this point, but the rumor going around the Fire Pro locker room is that Kent is taking his status as a champion very seriously & has been studying film diligently to come up with a proper game plan. If Kent does drop the title to Houston, he'll follow in his brother Christopher's footsteps as a one & done champion. Quick history lesson, Christopher is a former Fire Pro Wrestling 24/7 Hard Target Champion, who lost the title in his first & only title defense. We'll see if that's a Kent Boys trait or if Hayden is in it for the long haul.

-The now reunited New Breed (Kenny Courageous & Devon Fury) defend their newly won championship against Celtic Cross (Angus McDuff & The Crusader). The New Breed fooled everyone for months & their diabolical plan finally came to a head in March when they reunited & toppled Risk Factor for the Fire Pro Wrestling Tag Team titles. Having acted like they had a falling out, thus breaking up & going their separate ways, we all believed that the two of them were now bitter rivals determined to see each other fail. Unfortunately, their plan was perfectly executed & it saw them reuniting & claiming tag team gold again. Unlike Hayden Kent, this is one instance in which I'd like to see a champion be one & done. And Celtic Cross could be the team to do it. They have the ability & now we have to find out if they can put their talents together & capture the gold.

-For the Fire Pro Wrestling Heavyweight Championship, Champion "Die Hard" Steve Szoke puts the title on the line against "Roughneck" Jay Ryan. These two have battled each other in the past & to say their matches are hard-hitting is a monumental understatement. These two come at each other like a bull in a china shop; nothing is safe. It makes for a great wrestling match, but it's hard to see who has the clear advantage. Usually in cases like this, you give the edge to the champion & I find myself doing so in this instance, but I can foresee a time in which Ryan is the heavyweight champion in the not too distant future. But for the time being, this is Szoke's night.
