Fire Pro Wrestling Newsline, October 19, 2007

Normally the Newsline before a Fire Pro live event is when I give the show preview. I'll throw out my predictions, give the basic rundown of the matches, etc. But in the case of tomorrow's live event, I absolutely have no clue what will happen. Why? Because tomorrow, Fire Pro Wrestling presents "Lethal Lottery" at the Fire Pro Arena.

The matches will be selected at random via a blind draw. And the blind draw will be handled by the audience. That's right, you, the Fire Pro fan, will select the participants as we go along. The competitors in the locker-room wont know when or who they will be wrestling. It's an old cliché in this business, but anything can & will happen.

Not much in the way of news, but before we get to a "Lethal Lottery" preview, let's take care of the few news items that I do have:

*The return of "Superstar" Chris Styles has the Chicago/Midwest wrestling scene buzzing with anticipation & excitement. Styles has been out of action for a few years & it will be interesting to see how his comeback goes. As someone who has had the pleasure of watching & calling many "Superstar" matches, seeing him in the ring again will be a true pleasure & a long time coming. If you haven't had the chance to see a Styles match, you're in for a treat. I'm hoping to get a chance to talk to Styles & give you an update on his whereabouts, if we will see him again in Fire Pro & if his comeback is just a one shot deal. I'll try to have that for you next week.

*After I mentioned Machine's loss to Osyris at "End of the Road" on September 29th in last weeks Newsline, Machine was furious with my assessment of his defeat. He vows that if I mention it again, he will come looking for me. Machine is a man that I definitely don't want angry with me but the facts are he lost to Osyris & needs to rebound off that defeat to get his momentum back. Machine has payback on his mind & I'm convinced he will take out his frustrations on whoever gets in his way.

*That news story I've been promising you for the past few weeks will finally bear fruit following "Lethal Lottery" tomorrow. A new venture will bring you more in-depth coverage of Fire Pro Wrestling & it's great competitors. This new venture will be launching very soon & you'll be the first to know when it does.

*The creation of the Fire Pro Wrestling channel on YouTube is another new, exciting development that will continue to expand the Fire Pro brand. If you have any requests or suggestions about what you might like to see on Fire Pro TV, email those thoughts to me at firepro.doublej@gmail.com. And you can check it out at http://www.youtube.com/fireprotv

*And on a related "Lethal Lottery" note, if you haven't seen the Tristin Hazye produced video regarding his upcoming bout with Fire Pro Wrestling Pride Champion Chase "The Face" Richards, I recommend viewing it prior to tomorrow's live event. You can view the footage here:

The video is one of the most disturbing pieces of footage I have ever witnessed & after viewing it, I think you'll agree with me. Their match goes well beyond titles or wins & loses. This is about a mutual & deep hatred for one another. The winner of this match-up will be the man who not only earns the pin-fall, but manages to SURVIVE.

Having said that, there really isn't much to preview in the way of what we know will happen, but what we do know is the Fire Pro Wrestling Pride Championship match between the current champion Chase "The Face" Richards & his arch-rival "The Regulator" Tristin Hayze will be contested under strap match rules. For those of you new to this type of stipulation, basically the setup is each man will have a leather strap attached to their arm & the match will be fought under Pride Title rules. That means no rope breaks, no countouts, no disqualifications & closed fists are legal. Factor in the strap & you have a recipe for havoc. But these two are chomping at the bit to get at one another. It hurts to say, but Hayze has a wealth of experience with the strap & I think he'll manage to upend Richards this time. I hope I'm wrong.

Cade Lee puts his title on the line once more against "Diehard" Steve Szoke. But there are some special stipulation for this match. If Lee wins, Szoke must bow down on his hands & knees and kiss Lee's boots. If Szoke wins, then Lee must lie on his back & allow any kid who desires to get their picture taken to put their foot on his chest & raise the Fire Pro Wrestling Heavyweight Title over their head. To ensure that either scenario takes place, both Lee & Szoke have signed contracts stating if they do not fulfill these stipulations, they will be suspended from Fire Pro Wrestling for 6 months. I think when all is said & done, we will be able to crown a new champion & thankfully close the book on Lee's run on top.

In addition to those matches, this is what we know will be taking place:

Risk Factor (Roach & Jynx) have to defend their tag team titles against two mystery opponents who will be selected via "Lethal Lottery" random drawing rules.

Christopher Kent has to defend his 24/7 Hard Target Championship against a mystery opponent, again selected via "Lethal Lottery" rules.

Devon Fury & former partner Kenny Courageous will be on opposite corners of the ring as they will each captain a team in a 6-Man tag match. Both Fury & Courageous will have each of their other two team mates selected at random.

And just added,
an 8-man Battle Royal will take place with the winner getting a Fire Pro Wrestling Heavyweight title shot at our November live event.

W
restlers already scheduled to appear in the "Lethal Lottery" drawings are Hayden Kent, Hoss, "The Associate" Dave Allen, "Hot Bod" Shawn Davis, Prince Ali, "The Moustache Model" Carl Morris, Gilbert Lewis, Jay Phoenix, Fuzion & making his return to the Chicago wrestling scene, "Superstar" Chris Styles!

Make your plans to join us next tomorrow, October 20th as Fire Pro Wrestling presents "Lethal Lottery" at the Fire Pro Arena, located on the Impact Christian Church Campus, 401 W. 82nd Place, Merrillville, Indiana.
